Biography

Victoria R. Ilacqua is an Associate Attorney at Sawin Law, P.C., where she assists the firm with divorce, family law, and estate planning.

Prior to joining Sawin Law, P.C., Victoria had spent the past two and a half years in estate planning and administration at a prominent firm on the South Shore. Preceding her work in estate planning and administration, Victoria worked as a victim witness advocate at the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office where she provided support, information, and advocacy to numerous victims and witnesses of various crimes.

Additionally, Victoria volunteered as a Case Reviewer with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF). There, she had the unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of foster children by participating on the panel that helps plan for their future while in DCF care. While on the panel, Victoria assisted in determining any concerns for the child’s safety as identified through the review process, whether continued placement for the child in DCF care is necessary and appropriate, and whether progress is being made to determine if a permanent living situation for the child is reasonable.

Moreover, Victoria also volunteered at the Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) where she provided legal services for sexual assault victims with civil legal issues throughout Massachusetts. VRLC focuses on the safety concerns and emotional turmoil that can follow an assault by restabilizing the basic necessities of victims, such as housing, employment, immigration, physical safety, and educational trajectory. With the assistance of pro bono attorneys and volunteers, VRLC provides free civil legal assistance to over 800 sexual assault survivors annually in Massachusetts.
